Board of Directors

PEN Management and Development Cosultants (PMDC) is a susidiary of Poverty Eradication Network (PEN).

PMDC has two shareholding directors; Dr. Samson Muttai and Chris Mbiti. All current Board members of Poverty Eradication Network (PEN) are also PMDC directors. 

Dr. Samson Muttai

Dr. Muttai is an ex Assistant Director with the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC), Livestock division for over 16 years. He is also a retired Council Member for Egerton University, a veterinary surgeon by training and qualitification. He is director of New Kenya Cooperative Cremaries (KCC) and the chairman of Poverty Eradication Network (PEN) Board.

 

 

 

 

Mr. Chris Mbiti

Before being named the Executive Director, Chris Mbiti served as PEN's Programs Manager. He joined PEN in November 2003 as a Programs Manager and was instrumental in designing programs and fundraising for PEN. As part of PEN work, Chris provided capacity building support to Civil Society organisations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and other regional organisations in Zambia and South Africa.

As the Executive Director, Chris provides day to day leadership and management of PEN which includes programme design, implementation and ensuring accountability and reporting to the PEN board and stakeholders including the beneficiaries. He maintains liaisons with other CSO leaders, government and international development partners.

Chris is an experienced development practitioner with over 16 years experience having worked with both international and local NGOs in Kenya and Republic of Namibia. Chris holds an MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in International Economics from Griffith Business School, Brisbane, Australia and Bachelor of Commerce from Kenyatta University.
